When I arrived in London in 2004, I had ensured that I would have a little more than 3 weeks to settle in prior to my Masters course beginning, in order that I could toddle around and visit places I’d been before as well as discover the new to me. One of my first visitsContinue reading “Lightweight E-Type”

Rothmans Porsche
This was a nice surprise. The pub I used to frequent in London (it was a good pub and very close to the RCA) was called “The Queen’s Arms”, and right across the road from it was a place called “Coy’s of Kensington” which sold classic, exotic and sports cars. One evening I headed outContinue reading “Rothmans Porsche”
250GTO
Another car from Nick Mason’s Ten Tenths Collection. This was a beautiful Ferrari 250GTO that was up on jackstands being worked on. The GTO was between a couple of Bugattis and a Dark Green Ferrari 512BB. A great place to spend an afternoon.
Maserati 250F
More from Nick Mason’s Ten Tenths collection… This is a Maserati 250F – I don’t know the exact provenance but these cars were driven in F1 by the likes (amongst many others of Juan Manuel Fangio and Stirling Moss. The 250F raced from 1954 until 1960. One of the brilliant things about Ten Tenths collectionContinue reading “Maserati 250F”
Maserati Birdcage (Tipo60/61)
This was supposed to be a quick sketch and render but became a little more complex – but let me start at the beginning. In 2005 I was living in England, and a very close friend of mine was doing some work for Maserati which included going up to the Cotswolds to interview Nick MasonContinue reading “Maserati Birdcage (Tipo60/61)”
XK120
Catching up… a sketch from British Car Day last September (!) of a lovely Jaguar XK120 with a gaggle of XJSs in the background.
Land Rover
Very cool and slightly beat up Land Rover from British Car Day this past September.
61 Vette
A lovely 1961 Corette I saw at the “Woodbridge Cruisers Hwy 27 Car Show”. The owner was very friendly and gave me a run-down on the car and all of it’s interesting quirks which was fascinating.
1972 Lancia Fulvia
Evelyn and I were sitting on a Patio on the Lakeshore last weekend when this beauty pulled up. I yakked with the owner a bit and had a sit in the car – (the seats are much more comfortable than they look). I really do love spring.
