This is a sketch/render of a lovely Series II owned by someone I met through the Jaguar Club. He was kind enough to take me for a drive in his car prior to me buying mine, which was a big help as it allowed me to get an idea of what it is, because, althoughContinue reading “Series II E-Type”

I have been remiss
This is a Porsche Carrera 6 that I saw at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart. This is one of those vehicles that one can only stand back and gaze at in awe, a true representation of what metal, alloy and fibre can be fashioned into that that leaves one gobsmacked and awestruck.
Lightweight E-Type
When I arrived in London in 2004, I had ensured that I would have a little more than 3 weeks to settle in prior to my Masters course beginning, in order that I could toddle around and visit places I’d been before as well as discover the new to me. One of my first visitsContinue reading “Lightweight E-Type”
250GTO
Another car from Nick Mason’s Ten Tenths Collection. This was a beautiful Ferrari 250GTO that was up on jackstands being worked on. The GTO was between a couple of Bugattis and a Dark Green Ferrari 512BB. A great place to spend an afternoon.
Stirling
A belated tribute to one of my favourite drivers. I sketched this from a photo I took at the 2005 Goodwood Festival of speed, at which Stirling Moss piloted his legendary Mercedes 300SLR up the course. Racing is diminished by his passing.
Austin-Healey Sprite
More from British Car Day, 2016, love these cars. If these don’t make you smile, I don’t know what will… 🙂
Alfa Romeo GTV
Remember the dent my Alfa Spider received? Well, I’ve got it in the shop for repairs now. I was concerned that the work be done correctly, so sought advice from my mechanic who sent me to “Ricci Collision” Their garage was reassuringly full of old Alfas and Fiats (amongst others) in various states of progress. Thanks toContinue reading “Alfa Romeo GTV”
Doodle
I was bored during a meeting and doodled this. It’s a “thumbnail” – about 6 x 4 cm… Tch tch tch… still sketching cars in the margins when I should be paying attention… I never did grow up.
Jaguar D-Type
Ahhhhh – one of the most beautiful of cars…This is an overlay of an overlay. I sketched this from an internet reference (lacking a D-Type of my own 😦 ) and traced the “successful” result onto vellum. I’m hoping to get time to do a proper digital painting of this…
Porsche Carrera GT
Not exactly my usual subject matter (not old enough!) but this was requested by a student, so I obliged. Porsche’s are tough cars to draw, and this one was no different – I think the greenhouse is a little too “tall”, making it look less sporty than it should…
