This is not the usual thing I would display, as I don’t consider it “finished” or “presentable”. However, this is the basis for a fifth scale model I will be making over the summer, and I thought that this might be interesting to display for that reason. The top two drawings are “top” and “side”Continue reading “F1 Concept Development”

1936 Auto Union
One of the strangest looking Grand prix cars ever… but an amazing piece of engineering. The engine was a 6 litre V16 and made 520 bhp. For the full appreciation of it’s “strangeness”, one must really see it from the side; the driver is shoved forward into the blunt nose and the V16 fills theContinue reading “1936 Auto Union”
“Powder”
A Break from cars… at least for today. This is my dog, a chocolate lab – she looks a little sad, but she practices this look as it is useful when food is in the vicinity… Her name comes from my sons, who thought that I should name my next lab (my last had beenContinue reading ““Powder””

Belly tank racer concept
Always thought these things look remarkably cool. I wish modern F1 cars were more like this….

2013 Malaysian GP – Alternate
One of the problems with rushing off the cartoons as fast as I try to is that sometimes you come up with another idea as you’re doing it – as I did here. In the end I liked this one enough to think it was deserving of an “airing” so I thought I’d provide aContinue reading “2013 Malaysian GP – Alternate”
Honda CL350
Based on the bike created for the English version of the movie “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”. I started this sketch on the weekend – this is a reasonably “involved” sketch. The geometry was set up in my sketchbook, and then the actual drawing was traced from that on tracing vellum – which acceptsContinue reading “Honda CL350”

Toyota Sports 800
Brilliant car – an 800cc, 45 HP car that topped out at (claimed) 160km/h – which in something this small would seem like warp speed. These cars were a reaction to the introduction of the first Honda production car, the S500. It’s not hard to see a “little brother” likeness to the Toyota 2000GT. IContinue reading “Toyota Sports 800”
