Frankfurt Sketch

Frankfurt Sketch

A bit naughty of me – have been distracted by some basement renovation “excitement” that has sidetracked me, and so I am recycling a sketch that I did in the Town Square of Frankfurt last spring. An American Bloke was so fascinated by the fact that I was sketching on a pub patio that he stood me 2 beers. Lesson? Always carry your sketchbook… 🙂

ME109

ME109

As Promised (though a day late) another Messerschmitt… (a 109) it’s a quick sketch and the discriminating amongst you will complain about the elipse of the rear wheel as compared to the tail-plane… My bad. First plane I’ve sketched in a while – good fun!

May 1

Hard to believe that it’s been 19 years…

I know I’d promised a Messerschmitt today, but I’d forgotten the date. Tomorrow.

…I’ll bet you that if McDonnell Douglas ever built a car, it won’t be this cute… another Messerschmitt tomorrow, but this time a plane…

TR6 Concept (TR9?)

TR6 Concept (TR9?)

D-Type Photoshop, in progress

D-Type Photoshop, in progress

Thought I’d update the sketch I did earlier this week. The sketch was imported into photoshop and I began rendering – one of the toughest things to do is to determine and limit your colour palette, I wanted this to be primarily green/blue with some minimal beige and indian red to warm it up. Playing with some new brushes, as well. This is all done with my mouse, as I have yet to upgrade to the more popular tablet…

Mercedes W154

Mercedes W154

This is a thumbnail sketch I did today, with the intention of doing a bigger drawing – but in the end I quite liked this and decided to leave it. The drawing is about 3 inches across, so the size you see it on the screen distorts the pencil strokes a little and makes it seem a bit messy. Still, I like the simple graphic sensibility of it.
