My students were doing an “in-class sketching” project today, so I doodled this between babbling and invigilating…

Another sketch from “British Car Day” – or “How to spend an entire evening on a drawing you meant to take 20 minutes, while single-handedly contributing to an ink shortage in your area…”

…drew this from a photo I took at the British Car Day in Bronte Provincial Park this past Sunday – don’t know that I have ever seen a car so “low”- if you lose the roll bar it’s only slightly above knee height… amazing.

Not sure what this is – but I often think fondly of a vehicle like this when I’m stuck in traffic…
This cartoon is a reaction to something I’ve noticed since the advent of the “public” pit to car radio… it seems to me that almost ANYTIME a race engineer gets on the blower and tells their driver that they’re on for a possibility of a win, or a podium, or to beat their rival – it is almost a guarantee that they will stay exactly where they are… I wonder why this is?

I was bored during a meeting and doodled this. It’s a “thumbnail” – about 6 x 4 cm…
Tch tch tch… still sketching cars in the margins when I should be paying attention… I never did grow up.

This is a sketch I’ve taken quite a long time on – I want to do a large scale painting of this, and this is part of the preparation (taking a break from F1 cars for a bit, when I’ve finished my current piece). The sketch is based on three separate images. The spokes are going to be tedious, but I understand the geometry now, so that’ll take some of the sting out of it. I think I may have the front wheel slightly off, so I’ll be looking into that… I’ll be attending British Car day next month, where I’ll be doing some sketching, but I’ll also be photographing these to ensure I’ve got the details correct.
